An exciting, jr to mid level opportunity to join our team has become available, and we are searching for someone who has exceptional technical skills looking to start and grow their career. The Network Engineer will join our growing team in our Broomfield, Colorado office.

An established, successful Australian software company with operations in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, simPRO provides industry leading business management software for the trades (electricians, plumbers, installers, etc.). SimPRO is quickly ramping up operations in the United States where it anticipates many years of rapid growth with our HQ in Broomfield, CO.

simPRO provides a range of highly trafficked cloud based software systems to clients on a global scale.

simPRO's software is deployed across a highly scalable cloud platform built around FreeBSD and Linux. The platform includes a range of database, web, load balancing, and storage technologies including PostgreSQL, PGPool, Lighttpd, MooseFS and HAProxy.

This role also provides general IT and network support to the staff in our Broomfield office so experience working with and supporting IT services within an office environment is expected.

Our office networks consists of a high speed network with considerable use of cloud based application and communication systems to limit the need for any internal infrastructure so experience with Google Apps and similar cloud based platforms will be highly regarded.

The suitable candidate will be a *Nix guru - who loves long sessions at an SSH terminal whilst sipping hot coffee or herbal tea. The role requires someone who is able to work independently and effectively with a core engineering team based in Australia. The candidate will have also had experience in building and deploying similar systems and has probably managed at least half of these technologies recently.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join an established, employee-friendly, global company with a US presence in Broomfield (Interlocken), Colorado that will grow across the United States in the next 12 to 18 months.Essential responsibilities and duties:

  • System configuration and support
  • System design and architecture
  • Development of scripting for process automation
  • Setup, configuration, deployment and management of server infrastructure
  • Setup, configuration and management of firewalls, routers, switches & PBX systems
  • Manage deployment and expansion of the simPRO cloud infrastructure
  • Support of design and expansion of cloud / hosting systems
  • Support of backup infrastructure and execution
  • Management and maintenance of corporate data center facility
  • Consolidation and virtualization of data center systems
  • Support of corporate infrastructure servers such as email, calendaring, web, database, phone systems, license, document management, etc.
  • Support for business application servers used by the Corporate, Sales and Engineering departments
  • Work with management and other IT / Engineering staff to build and implement security strategies that make business sense
  • Serve as a project manager on key IT projects for internal and external initiatives
  • Document FAQ's and IT information for both IT and other staff.
  • Support of helpdesk for appropriate level requests

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate or have:

  • Natural problem solver who enjoys identifying ways to make things better
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed time frames
  • Eagerness and enthusiasm to learn, with an ability to learn quickly
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with documentation and processes
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to perform well in a team dynamic
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and changing schedules
  • Good personal time management & organizational skills
  • Ability to achieve effective outcomes involving multiple people
  • Desirable competencies:
  • BA/BS degree, ideally in Technology
  • At least 1 to 3 years comparable experience, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Experience supporting SaaS apps
  • Local candidates desired

While experience in the above areas will be highly considered, it’s important to note they will be secondary to the person with the right determination, attitude, and overall suitability.
