Full Stack Software Engineer
We are looking for smart, talented, energetic, and team oriented people who are passionate about building high quality software in a collaborative Agile environment. You should be highly motivated, be able to find your way through ambiguity and are self-driven.
Required Qualifications:
Self-motivated with a strong passion to learn and grow your craft in software engineering
Bachelor’s degree in CS or STEM degree OR comparable work experience AND coursework/education
3+ years experience in software development, depending on education
Knowledge of OOD, common OO practices, and Design Patterns (primary language is Python but experience in other modern languages is great)
Technical foundation in modern web technologies, APIs, and SQL databases
Ability to work in a small, highly motivated, high-speed team
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong drive for problem-solving, for constantly evolving technologies and software development methods
What You’ll Do:
Our full stack engineers do everything from the DB models to the server-side code to the HTML/JS.
Develop, enhance, and debug RESTful APIs.
Identify and address performance issues.
Imagine spending your days:
Actively working to burn down the backlog and prioritize the feature list – taking on the tough stuff and breaking out reasonable chunks for others to tackle
Collaborating with the leadership team to determine the best design path for future functionality
Staying on top of the latest in web, ecommerce and API trends in order to keep us relevant
Working closely with the entire team to make sure that our product performs well and stands up to some tough scrutiny
Grabbing lunch with the team and working through that tough technical issue over a game of foosball
Who you are:
A professional developer with 1-3 years of experience as a software engineer and perhaps with an enterprise level projects to talk about
Proud of your BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience as a full stack developer including web frameworks and mySQL databases
Python 3 skill, or interest in learning Python
A solid understanding of development best practices and respect for well-engineered products
A technical tool belt that might include things like Django, Flask, SQLAlchemy, WTForms, Ajax, Bootstrap, Jira, Stripe and Google hosting
A talent for making sense out of obscurity – you immediately begin executing concepts in your mind the moment someone has an idea.
A “can do” not “can’t do” mindset
Have worked in an early-stage company so you know what it means to shift priorities and responsibilities.
Organized professional capable of managing your time, tasks and activities without daily guidance
Willing to jump in wherever we need you – we’re a small company and everyone has a collection of hats to wear
