Job Description
Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods of high precision aerospace assemblies. Utilizes knowledge of - product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards to successfully build and complex assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Works with design team to improve designs for manufacturability and assembly
- Develops new manufacturing processes and trains the clean room team to successfully execute
- Directs the design and fabrication of custom tooling for manufacturing processes
- Analyzes new equipment and provide business justification for acquiring it.
- Procures new equipment to support production
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
- Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts
- Participate on teams using quality control tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six-Sigma (DMAIC), VSM, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to reduce process variation and process improvement evaluation
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards
Required Experience Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience
- Performs work under general supervision
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
Compensation and Benefits
- All final pay rates will be determined by the candidate's specific education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
- Pay Range: $80,000-$95,000 per year
