NHT is seeking a Lead Web Developer (Full Stack) who wants to solve interesting, meaningful problems with an intelligent, hard-working team! This position will require creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills to help execute on our migration plan – we're migrating incrementally from an existing AngularJS front-end to a new front-end framework (React or Vue, you choose), and we’re completely rewriting our existing C#/.NET API as Python microservices.
Strong candidates will have expertise in JavaScript, experience with a wide variety of technologies on the front and back-end, an interest in learning new technologies and methodologies, and a minimum of five years of technical experience.
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the incremental UI migration
- Architect and lead the API complete rewrite effort
- Evaluate various technologies and make informed decisions about which solutions to use
- Collaborate with on-site web developer, and potentially remote web developers
- Communicate clearly and effectively with VP of Engineering as well as the Product and Engineering teams around technical concepts, requirements and timeline estimations
- Organize support for the existing web app during migrations
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in JavaScript
- Experience with a wide variety of technologies on the front and back-end (might include React, Vue, Svelte, Angular, jQuery, Python, Node, Express, C#, ASP.NET, or Ruby on Rails)
- An interest in learning new technologies and methodologies
- Experience with build tools (might include Webpack, Grunt or gulp.js), and CI/CD tools (might include Jenkins, Buddy or TeamCity)
- Experience building scalable, data-driven websites
- Experience working with graphing libraries
- Understanding of database concepts (Mongo and Postgres)
- Interest in learning data science and statistics as we are an analytics-driven company powered by custom machine-learning algorithms
- Minimum of five years of technical experience
- Ability and flexibility to sometimes wear multiple hats -- we are a small, agile startup
