As a Lead Software Quality Engineer, you’ll be part of the development team and work with developers, project managers and other stakeholders leading Quality Engineering initiatives, while driving the correct behavior in the teams.

 

You will be representing your teams to other teams and parts of company, developing tests plans, participating on test strategies, executing tests, tracking and reporting results, troubleshooting issues and working to resolve defects.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead Quality Engineering initiatives from inception through completion within your area of responsibility.
    • Consider areas of product which can be affected by Feature and asses impacts (conflicts)
    • Guide QEs on efficient test automation writing (prioritisation of areas for testing, specification of parts of product that should/should not be covered by automation)
    • On-boarding of new QE associates

 

  • Lead/coordinate the activities of related Cohorts within your technical discipline area (i.e. Javascript, Python)
  • Work as part of the development teams to refine feature and stories helping to drive quality into all aspect of the product
  • Detailed understanding of the the product from technical and business perspective
  • Design, create, execute, track and maintain manual and automated functional and regression test suites
  • Participate on implementation of the test strategy within your areas of responsibility
  • Track the quality metrics and propose/take active steps to improve the quality of the product
  • Provide insight into test requirements, design and implementation
  • Provide QEs within the teams with support, knowledge and directions if needed
  • Analyze requirements and technical documentation to plan, develop and implement tests
  • Document, track and escalate issues
  • Provide detailed problem analysis to the development teams driving product quality
  • Act as a customer advocate, committed to delivering quality throughout the company

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • MS/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in one or more advanced scripting languages
  • Successfully deliver products according to the defined test strategy
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum driven development environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with automation frameworks like Mocha, Jest, Selenium, etc
  • Flexible, independent and self-motivated
  • The company will not provide sponsorship for work visas or other employment authorization for this position.
