Lead Android Application Developer
JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Software Engineer will develop, modify, and enhance mobile application products and features that directly impact the customer experience. Works in all phases of projects, which are of considerable complexity, and requires strong knowledge of native mobile application and Android development technologies and principles. Serves as a technical resource for and reviews the work of less experienced staff members. Provides technical assistance and advice on existing software solutions. The role will work within an agile full stack development team to create innovative solutions by developing and implementing native Android applications for Charter customers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Code and perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution while adhering to business and technical requirements.
Code, test, debug, and enhance new and existing mobile native software applications.
Write programs according to specifications.
Works with product and technology teams to define specifications for complex programs.
Repair critical systems, and assist team members in monitoring and repairing systems.
Participate in code review sessions to validate adherence with development standards.
Develop technical documentation, and assist team members in technical documentation.
Resolve escalated incidents and problems with software supported by the team.
Provide management with system analysis, feedback, and improvement recommendations.
Work with software architects identifying and recommending design and requirements needed for software enhancements.
Maximize efficiency of various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing, and auditing new software programs.
Participate in performance improvement sessions discussing opportunities to improve processes and/or standards.
Coordinate with technical teams to analyze and resolve software related problems causing operational issues, advising on specialized features and functions.
Follow established configuration/change control processes.
Collaborate with customers, and internal/external technical teams to identify software problems and communicate remediation plans.
Mentor, coach, and assess work of more junior team members.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Strong working experience with writing high-quality, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code
Advanced level knowledge of industry best practices for design and implementation of mobile native applications
Strong experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
Strong experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Capable of independently delivering on multiple competing priorities.
In-depth understanding of Android Studio, Android SDK, Kotlin, and related development technologies
Experience with RESTful API Integration and best practices
Understanding of OO Design, concurrency, synchronization, memory management, data structures, algorithms, etc
Strong experience with software security principles and patterns.
Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a common culture of excellence.
Hands-on experience with cloud solution providers including AWS.
Education
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience

The pay for this position has a salary range of $96,100.00 to $170,500.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
