The company

Azevtec (Autonomous, Zero-Emission Vehicle Technologies) is automating 'first-mile' trucking. We simplify how large enterprises ship goods—our robotic systems automate repetitive vehicle movement and manual tasks in the world’s busiest freight-shipping hubs to enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and improve safety.

Azevtec is a rapidly growing, Series-A company founded to drive the adoption of sustainable transportation and deploy autonomous vehicles responsibly.

The role

In this position, you'll be working as part of the product development team to create safe and reliable autonomous vehicle systems. As an early member of the team, you will also be supporting initial field trials and customer deployments of these systems.

The successful candidate will share responsibility for product implementations and for helping drive successful deployments of self-driving, zero-emission vehicle systems.

Duties and responsibilities

    • Design, analyze and test complex electronic systems that enable advanced autonomous vehicles
    • Develop production-ready electronic subassemblies (PCBs, wire harnesses, electronic enclosures, etc.) that can be manufactured at scale
    • Collaborate with systems, software, and test teams to refine electronic architectures
    • Develop, improve and sustain electronic testing fixtures and processes
    • Evaluate new electronic components and their impact on system safety and performance
    • Support field testing and debugging, both locally and at remote customer sites
    • Debug wire harnesses, electronic assemblies, PCBs, and installed systems
    • Travel to support customer deployments on-site (25%)

Required qualifications

    • Wire harness design and debugging experience
    • PCB design, assembly and rework experience, preferably in the automotive, trucking, or similarly challenging environment
    • Demonstrated initiative and ability to deconstruct complex problems into discrete components
    • Background in electronic troubleshooting for PCBs, wire harnesses, and data busses (e.g., CAN, RS-232)
    • Experience designing for EMI/RFI isolation and shielding (including grounding techniques)
    • Proficiency with multimeters and oscilloscopes
    • Basic soldering, crimping, and electronic prototyping experience
    • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills

Ideal qualifications

    • Autonomous vehicle experience
    • Automotive systems design experience
    • Firmware design and implementation background
    • Mechanical CAD experience (especially SolidWorks)
    • Ability to work in MS Visio without guidance
    • Test software development background (Python preferred)
    • Familiarity with RF design/test plan creation and execution
