We are currently looking for a Director of Software Engineering to join our Denver, CO based team.As a Director of Software Engineering you will play an integral role in supporting PointsBet's continued growth and success.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
In this role, you will be directing Technology teams that design and build innovative solutions that delight our customers by evolving our Payments Systems for our Sportsbooks and Casino systems. An ideal candidate will be a highly effective leader with proven experience in building and growing high performance global engineering teams, continuous delivery with relentless focus on high quality, successfully implementing agile at scale, and a drive for DevSecOps culture and modern CI/CD deployment practices.

• As a core member of the Technology leadership team, you will direct and be accountable for the global software development teams responsible for designing and delivering innovative and highly reliable Payments Systems.
• Effective collaboration with leadership and stakeholders across Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Technology teams.
• Contribute to the product and technology roadmap, evolve the systems architecture while ensuring overall alignment of the software designs produced by the teams under your direction.
• Direct software development teams to deliver high quality production code including the effective utilization of testing frameworks, disciplined engineering and CI/CD practices
• Provide clear, data-driven insights and communications to technology and business stakeholders on delivery timelines, product quality with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with Business domain experts, Product and Technology Leadership in vendor due diligence and solution integrations.
• Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies and influence how these can be applied to the product and business opportunities.
• Effectively coach and develop People Managers, Technical Leads, and Individual contributors in your team.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in product and processes and assist with various regulatory requirements and internal policies & procedures.
• Ensure all employees and contractors under your direction adhere to the Company's information security policies.

SKILLS WE SEEK

• B.S or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of Senior Management experience providing leadership to geographically distributed product engineering teams in delivering multiple full-cycle software solutions.
• 10+ years of experience of hands-on development experience in C#, SQL, highly distributed and low latency systems
• Experience in technical and management leadership background with functional breath across the areas of distributed software infrastructure and computing in PCI and/or regulated gaming is a strong plus.
• Experience scaling agile software development across global teams while ensuring disciplined engineering practices are followed with a relentless focus on quality.
• Working knowledge in backend system architecture patterns and technologies such as:

*Modern distributed systems design patterns, Microservices & Serverless design paradigms
*SQL/ NOSQL databases
*RESTful APIs, cloud-based/enterprise-grade message brokers or streaming platforms

• Container orchestration systems (Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud or AWS or GCS (Azure Preferred)
• Working knowledge with various operating systems and platforms is a plus, specifically Windows and Linux (Debian preferred)
• Working knowledge of e-commerce PCI DSS compliance is a plus
• Proven problem solving and communication skills with the ability to manage key stakeholders effectively.
• Engage with various stakeholders and executive leadership - excellent communication is required.
