Flatirons has an opening for a DevOps Engineer located in Boulder, CO.

You will play a significant role supporting project teams for our Aerospace Line of Business. Your responsibilities will include assisting with transforming our current software build, testing, and deployment process into an automated DevOps process specifically to address our software solutions for organizations that rely on mission-critical data to design, manufacture, operate, or maintain complex assets over their product and service lifecycles as well as across multi-echelon business networks. 

Responsibilities 

As a DevOps Engineer, you will provide the engineering and technical skills necessary to analyze and implement a continuous build, test and deploy software infrastructure to support Flatiron’s Fleet and Manufacturer software products unique to Aerospace environments. Work duties include maintenance and support of the build and project-related server environments, and developing enhancements to the build processes, tools and related tasks. You will interface with project teams, support, hosting, product architects and Flatirons’ global clients. The following are detailed responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer:

• Participate in process improvement initiative(s) to develop/carry out organizational process improvements for DevOps
• Perform builds for multiple project teams to DEV, QA and UAT environments
• Create and maintain deployment configurations for project teams
• Create, maintain and extend build scripts as needed
• Identify and quickly resolve build script problems
• Employ Agile / TDD best practices as it relates to DevOps
• Focus on being able to implement automated tasks to replace existing manual software build and deployment tasks
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting attitude
• Self-sufficient and self-motivated to work on cutting edge task assignments
• Mentor other DevOps team members for cross operational training
• Pay attention to details to be able to thoroughly document and maintain detailed, accurate environment information
• Coordinate DevOps deployment activities with various internal and external customer stakeholders
• Consult with Product Architects to resolve any DevOps deployment challenges with our product suite

Desired Experience 

• 2-5 years configuring Jenkins Pipelines (required)
• 1+ years with Docker (required)
• 1+ years with Kubernetes (required)
• 1+ years with containerized cloud deployments (e.g., GKE, AKS, Red Hat OpenShift)
• 2-5 years working on Linux environments (required)
• Demonstrated knowledge of build-related technologies (e.g., Maven, Gulp, Grunt, Nexus, Git and SVN)
• Have used Jira for issue and project tracking
• Experience with Agile
• Worked in a DevOps organization with local and remote team members
• Familiar with the deployment of mission-critical software enterprise solutions

 Requirements 

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or directly related field
• 2+ years related work experience in DevOps industry or similar software engineering role
