We are looking for an enthusiastic DevOps Administrator to be responsible for designing, building and maintaining our operational infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for a dynamic, heavily automated, rapidly growing cloud-based infrastructure supporting tens of thousands of applications created by thousands of our customers. You’ll be working with a team of strong engineers and the most modern technologies.

Our DevOps team thrives on automating processes and incorporating high-availability thinking into every step. We build with a goal of zero downtime, and automate everything from builds to tests to deploys to monitoring. We leverage cloud automation tools extensively to create a highly optimized pipeline from development through to production.

The ideal individual has 4+ years of experience in Linux administration, exposure to AWS or other public clouds, strong analytical skills and technical skills, as well as the ability to interact with senior leadership and thrive in a fast-paced startup. You will be a senior technologist within the team, responsible for both design and development as well as operations of our critical infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish environments from build out through production operation
  • Construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Proactively monitor system health and performance (Datadog, Sumo)
  • Maintain 99.99% uptime of TrackVia Environments
  • Administer Linux OS (Amazon Linux)
  • Develop and maintain strong OS and network security practices
  • Adhere to and improve corporate standards for information security & compliance
  • Manage backups, restores, and DR for servers, applications, and databases
  • Assist with MySQL administration (AWS Aurora)
  • Develop and maintain system configurations (bash, Puppet, others)
  • Manage hosted environments using AWS
  • Setup and maintain environments for dev, qa, and production
  • Participate in a 24×7 on call rotation
  • Create and maintain related documentation
  • Maintain corporate network (LAN, firewall, VPN)

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of related professional experience
  • 2-3+ years experience in a DevOps environment, preferably in a production web environment
  • Strong Linux administration (RedHat)
  • Strong scripting skills (BASH, Python, PHP, etc.)
  • Strong TCP/IP skills
  • Expert knowledge of deployment software (Jenkins, Puppet, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of version control systems (GitLab)
  • Experience working with and developers and customer support teams
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Docker containers and container management
  • Excellent written communications: clarity, brevity, grammar
  • Excellent verbal communications: articulateness, patience, listening skills
  • Professionalism: promptness, attention to detail, organization
  • Knowledge of AWS is a plus, including VPC, EC2, Route 53, S3, EKS, Cloudfront, and RDS
  • Knowledge of Terraform is a plus

Salary & Benefits

  • The compensation for this position is $110,000-$140,000, depending upon experience
