Zoom (zoom.us) is the world leader in video communications. Hundreds of thousands of businesses turn to Zoom for video and web collaboration, and we have the highest customer satisfaction in our industry. In all measures - revenues, team, customers - Zoom is growing at an explosive pace. With our recent funding of $100M from Sequoia, we are expanding teams across our organization. Now is the time to get on board at Zoom. It's an awesome place to work, and we're looking for the best people to join us.

You’re a developer. You have been writing code for some time, and you can ship code like it’s your job (maybe it currently is your job). You know about software development and use it in your daily life. Then you began to understand that no matter how many lines of code you write, the documentation that accompanies your code is just as important as the code itself. You learned that, while challenging, writing meaningful developer content was powerful and rewarding.

More than just content you know the details matter. You know that even though developers are technically minded individuals, they still enjoy well written, concise, straightforward documentation. You have a preference on the Oxford Comma (the Oxford Comma is always right), and pride yourself on writing beautifully constructed developer education material.

When you find developer documentation that is sub-par, it makes you cringe and wonder if the industry can do better as a whole. You’re excited about the prospect of pushing developer education to new heights and making the world a developer-friendly place.

You:

  • Your primary objective will be to challenge and empower developers on the Zoom platform.
  • Doing so will require you to write technical documentation and write sample apps that support the Zoom productivity suite and our development tools.
  • On a typical day, you could expect to rewrite content that has low viewership, write new education content for upcoming features, review content written by others on our team, and writing blog posts.
  • Additionally, you will be writing sample code that will be published to our open source repository on GitHub.
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
  • 2+ Years Experience

The Team:

  • We are a team of developers turned evangelists who believe the future of tech is in the hands of developers.
  • We support growth and career advancement. We want you to be successful because at the end of the day your success is our success.
  • Our mission is to bring together a community of developers on the Zoom platform and empower them to create amazing experiences.
  • Developer Advocates support and evangelize our developers directly.
  • Developer Educators are the main catalyst for developers. They guide the developer’s first impression of us and are a vital part of this team.
  • Together these two roles function as a complete tool to allow developers to make meaningful tools and applications on our platform.
