Journal Technologies is seeking candidates for software data conversion/ETL developers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely within a data-focused team, this role is primarily responsible for designing, testing and executing one-off and regularly run SQL scripts and ETL packages to migrate data from legacy databases into SQL server databases. Applicants will assist in the creation of functional requirements specifications and process mapping.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Self-starter accustomed to a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly absorb information and become a subject matter expert
• Broad knowledge in application software, technologies, and networking systems
• 2+ years of conversion/development experience with SQL (Structured Query Language)
• Strong understanding of relational databases, T-SQL, ETL tools, data conversion, and data cleansing methodologies
• Ability to communicate with product management and development teams
• B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Analytical Thinker - effective at understanding problems and developing one or more approaches to solving the problem
• Experience in data conversions is a plus
• Experience in justice agencies, particularly courts, is a plus
• Experience with software implementations either with a systems integrator or consulting organization is a plus
