Job Description and Responsibilities
The Control Systems Engineer III supports the development, design, prototyping, and test of Honeybee Robotics' electronic Motion Control products and systems.
Working closely with design engineers, this individual will lead the design, simulation, and analysis of control loops and algorithms for motion control and actuation systems. This includes servo control system design, BLDC and stepper motor control, and resultant positional accuracy of mechanisms.
Required Experience, Skills and Education
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
- 6+ years of relevant work experience modeling and analyzing motion control systems
- Significant experience with MATLAB and Simulink including:
- Model development in transfer function and state space forms
- Design and analysis of closed loop response and stability
- Verification of developed models
- Experience modeling electromechanical systems including:
- Torque, power, speed, and position in discrete time
- Non-ideal performance such as stiction, cogging, and backlash
- Feedback methods such as hall sensors, resolvers, and back EMF
- Familiarity with digital implementation of control systems in embedded systems
Desired Experience and Skills
- Previous experience with mechanism development and systems for space
- Experience with any of the following:
- HDL Coder
- Bid & proposal support, including labor estimations
- Process development and documentation
Compensation and Benefits
- All final pay rates will be determined by the candidate's specific education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
- Pay Range: $108,000-$138,000 per year
