As an Infrastructure Systems Administrator, you will be key to monitoring and troubleshooting the entire IT stack (data center, network, storage, servers, and applications/services) and communicating issues / status to all relevant personnel. This challenging position offers traditional Operations Center monitoring and response responsibilities as well as system administration duties for performing initial troubleshooting of all issues. You will work closely with internal DigitalGlobe departments such as IT Problem Management, Customer Service, the Data Operations Center, and Software Development.

Responsibilities

The qualified candidate will perform a variety of tasks including system and application monitoring, ticketing and incident resolution.  The individual will work directly with various technical support teams in regards to monitoring, event escalation, managing of incidents and alarm thresholds.  Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and keen attention to detail are important.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years Linux system administration experience with RedHat, Solid knowledge LDAP, Satellite, Puppet, DNS, Dell PowerEdge server hardware technologies
  • 1-3 years Windows System Administration solid knowledge of DNS, Active Directory & Server 2008R2 or 2012R2, Dell PowerEdge server hardware technologies.
  • 1-3 years VMWare  Systems Administration vCenter, vSphere, CapacityIQ
  • 1-3 years Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, routing, segmented networks and remote site connectivity
  • Work a specific assigned shift – Night Shift
  • 2 -5+ years’ experience in Information Technology as an applications administrator, monitoring systems administrator and/or service desk administrator.
  • US Citizen, ability to obtain US Secret Level Security Clearance.  Must have at least interim clearance before first day.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network troubleshooting and administration experience Preferred knowledge of data / IP networking and protocols (OSPF, BGP, GRE, TCP, FTP, FCIP, NFS).
  • Proven experience in supporting complex software environments
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, continuously-improving team environment
  • Pro-actively seek out on the job training from senior resources to increase both technical and professional skills
  • Responsible for contributing to the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and following corporate and department policies and procedure along with standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred or comparable experience in related fields.
  • Experience with Nimsoft preferred
  • Experience with CA Service Desk preferred
  • Understanding of ITIL foundations
  • Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, routing, segmented networks and remote site connectivity
