Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $75,000 - $110,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

About the role:We are looking an Embedded Software Engineer that will support one of the following programs:
- INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models
- 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
- Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security missions.
What you'll do:
- Daily work includes designing, implementing, and testing of embedded software components to interface and control various peripherals such as motors, encoders, heaters, and sensors
- Creation of technical documentation throughout the development process including software interface control documents (ICDs) and customer facing presentations
- Support problem resolution throughout all phases of the program (functional and system integration and test)
- Development work is executed in a team environment spanning multiple programs
- Daily collaboration with other engineering disciplines, project, production, and program management to ensure milestones are on target
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Key job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
- 2 to 5 years of experience developing software for embedded systems, including the following skills
- Ability to program in multiple environments, languages, and operating systems.
- Working on multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Documenting software and presenting capabilities in design reviews
- Testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing defects in software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers
- Experience with formal software development practices including the use of software configuration management, coding standards, and style guides
