Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH Wireless is looking for a proactive and innovative individual to enhance the Android/iOS/Linux Device Certification process by providing valuable insights into 4G/5G protocol, testing methodologies, product architecture, and certification requirements. As a member of the Device Engineering department, you will collaborate with Network Engineering, OEMs, third-party vendors, and product managers to introduce 5G devices and address customer issues within an agile framework.
In this role, you will:
- Execute defined/applicable sanity test cases for new and regression software loads across the entire device portfolio.
- Support OEM Technical Lead with new technology trial execution, as required.
- Offer input into technical approval publication sent to OEM for each new software release.
- Conduct testing in both lab and field environments to assist with device certification.
- Collaborate with the team to collect and analyze device logs to identify and resolve issues.
- Assist development teams in bringing up 5G networks in new markets through testing and validation.
- Validate existing and new test tools, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure high-quality solutions for device certification and lifecycle management.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
As a successful Device Interoperability Test Engineer I, you will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the wireless telecom industry, working with service providers or device OEMs.
- 1+ years of experience in technical roles such as engineer/architect, R&D systems, or product management.
- Proficient in device requirements, test plans, and end-to-end solutions for 4G/5G architecture.
- Familiarity with 4G/5G device services and associated chipset and core networking technologies.
- Technical expertise in areas like L2/L3 protocols, Carrier Aggregation, E2E Call Flows, and IMS/VoWiFi.
- Experience with testing mobile devices, modules, routers, and bug tracking systems like Jira.
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $72,400.00/Year - $108,900.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
