DAT Software and Analytics is looking for a versatile User Researcher to join our outstanding UX team in either the Beaverton, Oregon, or Denver, Colorado office.

In this critical role you’ll help identify customer needs, problems, and opportunities through comprehensive user research.  Our goal is to make DAT a company that customers and employees love. We are looking for a researcher who can lead by empathy and uncover user insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Craft user surveys for both qualitative and quantitative inquiry.
  • Create and facilitate usability testing sessions.
  • Share user research findings in an easy to understand format.
  • Conduct user interviews and document feedback.
  • Work in close collaboration with UX designers, the Head of UX, as well as cross functional team members.
  • Work closely with UX and PM teams; use research methodologies to discover and validate user needs to highlight different market opportunities.
  • Gain actionable insights using qualitative research methodologies such as in-depth interviews, ethnography, contextual inquiry as well as quantitative research via surveys, card sorting exercises.
  • Work at both strategic and tactical level in applying user research into the product development process.
  • conducting extensive user research using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Conduct both lab-based and remote testing, iterative concept, prototype testing, and present findings and recommendations.
  • Elicit insights from behavioral data and usage analytics and present findings in a format that can be shared with cross-functional teams.

 

Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • 1-2 years user research design experience.
  • Ability to share past work experience and deliverables that highlight the user research process.
  • Knowledge of formative & summative usability research methods.
  • Ability to apply research & metrics from sources such as market research and usage analytics to provide recommendations that inform the design and product strategy.
  • Experience in conducting usability tests and ability to report findings that are metric-driven and actionable.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Up to date on the latest tools and technology available for user research and usability testing.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Interaction Design, HCI, Cognitive Psychology or a related field.

 

 Required

  • Must be able to share case studies that highlights the above skills.

(Colorado only) In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $100,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
