Roles and Responsibility

Creative:
•    Lead on Digital Experience Design with the team in strategizing, designing, presenting, developing, and delivering engaging and delightful user experiences and digital assets that exemplify the NetApp brand, increase engagement with NetApp solutions, and generate demand for NetApp sales funnels.
•    Collaborate with internal account managers and project teams to deliver successful and effective end products through the NetApp website experience.
•    Manage and design multiple projects simultaneously from concept to go-live within tight deadlines. 
•    Communicate openly and honestly with product owners and account managers about timelines and progress to build healthy working relationships. 
•    Present prototypes to Product Owners and teams while integrating feedback into the final experience.
•    Utilize testing data to make informed design decisions that increase efficiency and effectiveness. Data is always more important than opinions, and will be important at every step of the creative process. 

Leadership:
•    Take a lead on the design and implementation of UX and design guidelines for NetApp.
•    Provide the team with creative and visual direction for a wide range of digital assets and experiences.
•    Implement processes and procedures that promote efficiency within the UX/Design team.
•    Review designs from the design team and offer constructive feedback to ensure a cohesive visual language across the entire spectrum of sites and assets.
•    Lead internal brainstorms, ideations and continuing education sessions.
•    Conduct design team check-ins and help foster a design forum within the organization.
•    Build and maintain team chemistry and morale.
•    Be a design evangelist within the company and advocate for the power and effectiveness of good design.

Management:
•    Collaborate, train and guide designers and UX professionals on the team.
•    Help recruit and mentor new design team players.
•    Create an open and friendly work environment.
 

Job Requirements

Tech Know-how:

•    Comfortable and efficient with Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, and Illustrator and other contemporary design tools.
•    Working knowledge and understanding of the restraints and opportunities of the development process and code.
•    Working knowledge and understanding of analytics for helping to make design decisions that affect the company.

Areas of Expertise:

•    Wireframing and digital strategy
•    User experience research and implementation
•    Web and mobile design with a thorough understanding of responsive design 
•    Art and creative direction 
•    Establishing a strong design language
•    Presentation and selling of ideas to other teams
•    Design testing and ongoing iteration
•    Leadership by example
•    Listening
•    Advocation for your designers and the team

Professional Qualifications:

•    7+ years of experience in UX/product design for web and mobile application
•    5+ years experience leading on a design team
•    A strong portfolio of work that shows your UX and visual design process and solutions.
•    Ability to work within the Agile system to deliver engaging and delightful user experiences
•    Expertise in requesting and utilizing user research methods, and turning those findings into data that can be used to drive effective design decisions
•    A passion for user-centered design and understanding of design systems
•    Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, and highly collaborative
