Quick Left, acquired by Cognizant in 2016, is now part of Cognizant's Accelerator. We incubate start ups in our 6 month LaunchPad program, where teams put together companies and build their products using lean and agile methodologies. Designers on The Studio team (Quick Left), will be responsible for providing research, strategy, design and user testing for these teams during the 6-month program. For funded projects, designers continue to refine, test & implement changes to products. Product Designers here wear a lot of hats that include part interviewer, educator, researcher, project manager, information architect, as well as an interactive user interface designer.

Designers run product discovery meetings, they lead on certain projects or on elements within. Most design work is done in collaboration with our developers and project managers. This position is for a solutions-based designer who excels at bringing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. Strong attention to detail and intimate knowledge of UI patterns is desired. Coding experience is not a requirement, but knowledge in this area is a strong plus.

Above all else, this designer brings the ability to distill abstract ideas down to understandable visually oriented deliverables. Be it through the creation of wireframes, user flows, or high fidelity interactive prototypes, this designer facilitates communication from Sprint Zero to the final end-user experience. Strong visual design skills across a variety of software tools is a must. The ability to be continually learning and executing with the help of emerging technologies is also paramount.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of UX/UI Design with a focus on complex interfaces, data presentation, or product work
• Strong understanding of web and mobile applications as well as responsive design
• Ability and willingness to adapt and iterate on designs quickly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Pragmatic design and product decisions
• Comfortable collaborating across departments and teamsExcel at prioritizing features against multiple criteria and situational needs

Additional

• Motion graphics design and production
• 3D modeling, rendering and animation
• Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, Git, and command line
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design or related design field
• Some travel is required
• Background check and reference checks required upon hire
