Role Overview 

We are seeking a Powerplant Systems Design Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for developing powerplant systems architecture for such systems as fuel, environmental controls, oxygen, ice and rain protection as well as fire protection for Overture. Additionally, you will be a part of a world class team of engineers.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Work hand-in-hand with Powerplant team, Configuration specialist, and Program Leadership to create a world class approach to powerplant systems.
  • Carry out trade studies of systems to identify the right solution for Overture.
  • Define requirements for system design to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Design (CATIA) high level (low fidelity) system layouts and schematics to support the trade studies.
  • Collaborate with other team members and suppliers throughout the design, integration and certification activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related experience required.
  • 10+ years of systems experience with ability to perform calculations and analysis for trade studies.
  • Experience with 3D CAD design software.
  • Fundamental understanding of powerplant systems and associated requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Part 25 regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with different groups internally and externally.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience on at least one aircraft program from initial concept through flight and certification.
  • Experience in the development of commercial or business jets.
  • Ability to perform computational heat transfer analysis (using COMSOL or ANSYS).
  • Experience with Nastran or Patran FEM stress analysis.

Compensation: 

  • Salary Range for this position is $120,000-$190,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.
  • Robust equity program with significant upside potential.
  • Open PTO.
