The role

You will work alongside other engineers and technicians from multiple disciplines supporting the development and build-up of autonomous vehicles and robotic systems. This may involve CAD work, creating documentation of designs, researching new approaches to solve problems, supporting the test team, and helping wherever needed by wearing many hats. You will be exposed to SolidWorks, electrical, software, systems, and test engineers, building trucks, and supporting trucks.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Use SolidWorks to create and modify designs, supporting the packaging of electronic components onto an electric vehicle
  • Document designs and present them to peers for feedback
  • Fabricate or support fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Research novel solutions to problems
  • Provide content for and/or participate in design reviews, customer reviews, and production planning
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and amongst other organizations within the Company
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related
  • Experience with CAD software on multiple projects
  • Able to receive instructions and requirements from engineers and solve problems with that input
  • Organize and track work, ideas, decisions, requirements, and solutions
  • Must be a self-starter and task completion oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple sources
  • Maintain flexibility in a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities

Ideal qualifications

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and experience with large assemblies
  • 2-4 years of professional CAD experience
  • Experience with PDM system to manage revision control of designs
  • Willing to take on any assignment with optimism
  • Able to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Take ownership of a project from beginning to end
  • Experience with hand tools, 3D printers, and machine shop equipment

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range of $60,000 - 90,000. For benefits, check this out!
