What we’re hiring for:

Shinesty prides itself on creating some of the strongest branded imagery in the apparel game. Giving the utmost attention to look, feel, and overall styling of all creative assets generated, the Jr. Graphic Designer will be held to Shinesty’s deceptively high standards for all things design. They will work intimately close with the creative and marketing teams to design and develop a literal deluge of print and digital assets. Included in these will be: email graphics, web assets, Instagram stories and posts, video ads, apparel graphics, catalogs, and more. He or she will also be responsible for various aspects of web design. Lastly, he or she will be in charge of visual brand maintenance (read: making sure that Shinesty’s brand always looks like Shinesty). This may mean working with the marketing team to adjust typography in videos, assuring logo and brand assets are used correctly, or readjusting old assets that have not evolved with the brand.

The ideal candidate will make Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa look like a 6-year-old’s best finger painting, gets nauseous at the site of bad spacing, and likes to talk about fonts on first dates. What the Junior Graphic Designer will do:

• Ensure that all projects are delivered in our brand voice and in a timely manner.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends.
• Support brand consistency across all communication channels.
• Work with marketing to design compelling email graphics at least twice a week
• Design web layouts and graphics as needed to update Shinesty.com
• Create graphics for t-shirts, hats, fanny packs, and other printed goods as needed 
• Work with the Chief Creative Officer and the marketing team to design a minimum of 2 catalogs a year
• Maintain, implement, and improve upon the Shinesty brand whenever necessary
• Don’t cry (this one is probably the most difficult)

Nice to haves:

• UI/UX design experience
• Motion graphics
• Experience concepting and designing repeat patterns and graphic designs that translate to apparel

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in graphic design, visual communication, or equivalent program
• 1+ years professional experience in graphic design or closely related field
• Care deeply about high quality design, typography, and a healthy amount of negative space.
• A sense of humor...seriously.
