About Barbershop

Barbershop is a creative technology studio based out of Denver, Colorado. We focus on building brands and accelerating startups through technology. We are looking for people who are extremely driven, highly creative and interested in building world-class products. We have built and manage multiple SaaS platforms that are used in a wide variety of verticals changing businesses and often entire ways of doing business. Our leadership helped change the way many Fortune 500 brands use digital technologies over the past decade and we are excited to bring this thinking to our clients today.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an exceptional developer who understands that development is an extension of the UX/Design process. You have been a part of a SaaS product company or digital agency building websites of all sizes. You are passionate about building great technology and want to see your voice expressed in a variety of products used by people around the world. You love learning and all enjoy the process of seeing your work come to life.

Last year we helped 4 different startups build SaaS platforms, raise money, and created products never built before. In 2018 we are looking for new talented developers that want to make an impact and build great products.

Responsibilities

• Build cutting edge web applications using React.js, HTML5, and CSS3
• Develop CSS styles for custom UI's and layouts using progressive enhancement methodologies
• Write beautiful, performant, and readable code
• Understand the CSS flexible box model and modern CSS3 animation techniques
• Experience working with polyfills and cross-browser testing
• Shape products through code, documentation and creative problem solving
• Ideate on new innovative products with Barbershop team and clients
• Work with git to create pull requests and complete code reviews alongside technical leads
• Identify, research and propose new technologies to the team

Required Skills

• Experience developing responsive websites with thorough cross-browser and device testing
• A strong knowledge of building and maintaining React.js and Redux web applications
• Exposure to API integrations and user authentication with multiple roles
• Proficiency using React Native, Redux, NPM, CircleCI, Heroku and open source libraries
• Ability to self-manage time to efficiently complete tasks
• Experience estimating tasks, bugs, and stories in JIRA or similar
• Worked with Google Analytics or similar tracking platform for page and event analytics tracking
• Knowledge of CSS3 animation techniques
• Working knowledge of Higher Order Components and MVC Javascript applications
• A willingness to be open and collaborative

Creative Experience

• Experience implementing custom user interface designs
• Demonstrate design and UX sensibilities
• Has worked with Invision, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite in some capacity
• Capable of translating and developing elegant UI transitions and nuanced motion techniques from static designs
• Able to efficiently create prototypes
