Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Fraud
Ibotta is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our Fraud prevention team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. Our Fraud team is responsible for balancing an amazing Ibotta customer experience with minimal fraud dollar loss, and we are looking for a bright, creative, and collaborative machine learning engineer who will help us meet these goals.
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer you will research, design, productionize, and maintain fraud products that operate at scale. These fraud products are used to automate the identification of fraud across millions of accounts and help provide tooling for our fraud analysts. Some of the machine learning problems include (but not limited to): classifying hundreds of thousands of receipt images daily, clustering accounts at scale, anomaly detection, and sequence behavioral modeling. This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States.
What you will be doing:

Propose, plan, prototype, and implement machine learning solutions at scale for fraud mitigation
Leverage best practices to test efficacy of machine learning solutions
Maintain ownership of machine learning systems launched in production
Work collaboratively with fraud analysts to understand novel fraud patterns and to ensure your solutions are having practical impact
Continually review machine learning literature to inform what new machine learning experiments to prototype
Communicate risks and requirements to cross functional teams
Contribute to creating best practices for the team, and help mentor less experienced teammates
What we are looking for:
6+ years of experience as a machine learning engineer or related role.
Ability to lead and work collaboratively to drive towards common goals.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, economics, or equivalent required
Expertise in applying machine learning to a variety of business applications.
Ability to visualize, analyze, and communicate results to a variety of stakeholders.
A command of various statistical analysis methodologies.
A strong grasp of the Python stack for machine learning and data mining, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and PySpark.
Knowledge of cloud services (AWS preferred) and big data experience.

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity.
Base compensation range: $160,000-$185,000
