Senior Manager of Strategic Analytics
About this Opportunity
Rachio is seeking a Senior Manager of Strategic Analytics to lead the centralized strategic insights and integrated analytics for our end-to-end customer journey as well as additional strategic topics. You will be focused on driving results for Rachio’s highest priority and most impactful business opportunities including: driving higher lifetime value (LTV) and lower customer acquisition costs (CAC). Using an insights-driven approach, you will develop specific recommendations and implement measurable action plans related to consumer feedback loops. Your work will unlock rich insight and growth opportunities across our marketing, sales and innovation teams.
Your specific focus will be on establishing strategic insights to better understand and then recommend actions to take related to: customer engagement & offerings along their journey, sales & strategic consumer marketing activities, brand analytics, referral models & growth loops, and industry & competitive landscape.
In this role you will see the direct impact of your work, ensuring alignment with leadership to inform strategic decisions and increasing visibility of the impact of those decisions among stakeholders across the business. You will work with a range of existing data sources as well as be responsible for scoping, developing and delivering new sources. You will partner closely with key stakeholders across the major functions of the business, including Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Engineering to define and tackle the most important questions facing the business. This is a highly unique opportunity to take on a role with broad insights to drive the long term health of the Rachio brand. This role will report to the Director of Customer Success & Strategic Analytics.
Required // (What You Will Accomplish)
- Grow our business by increasing our customer LTV & improving LTV to CAC ratio
- Drive results by owning the Consumer Team’s test-and-learn process using hypothesis-driven and design thinking approaches with other key stakeholders including customers
- Identify growth loop opportunities to test and at times lead projects to help execute tests and/or scale successful opportunities
- Increase our category understanding: specifically where to play and how to win in defined lawn care categories (identify growth drivers, trends, claims, price points etc); make results oriented recommendations for our own new product innovation
- Conduct additional project based analysis and research on a wide variety of topics including business strategy, customer journey, digital marketing, audience segmentation, and program results to understand what will ultimately grow the business and meet other goals
- Partner to build out the analytical capabilities of the organization by identifying key strategic data sets while working with Product, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Engineering to ingest data and make them available
- Develop research artifacts such as refined segments, personas, customer journey maps and finding reports; scenario modeling, primary data (both qualitative and quantitative), segmentation analysis, competitive benchmarking, attribution modeling

- Analytical with strong, demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking capabilities and comfortable using self-service quantitative and qualitative research tools with strong experience in innovation, claims, and brand insights
- Ability to lead the research synthesis process, and generate insights that can inspire and inform innovative design which could be in the form of a product, service or experience
- “Owner’s” attitude, including a willingness to tackle opportunities and challenges through to solutions and an ability to work both independently and across functions
- Curious, nearly to a fault; your insatiable desire to get beyond surface level learning and uncover true insight is fueled by asking 2nd, 3rd and 4th order questions
- Unwaveringly objective; you represent the voice of the consumer in all situations, especially when learning is counter to initial hypotheses or prior learning
- Comfortable engaging with customers in a variety of settings with numerous approaches (e.g., home visits, design thinking sessions, interviewing, focus groups, etc.)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and collaboration skills at all levels of the organization
- Skilled data storyteller; you are comfortable weaving together disparate sources of information into a holistic story with strong recommendations based on market trends and consumer facts
- Thrives in working flexibly and efficiently, exercising a balance between research rigor and nimble, fast-paced, rapidly iterative product cycles
Skills Needed to Succeed // (How you get there)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing analytics, consumer insights, or user experience in either a corporate or consultancy environment
- Experience with business intelligence design and development, preferably Tableau
- Experience with relational databases or PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or AWS Athena; proficiency in SQL or ability to learn quickly
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Alteryx and Tableau. Some experience with R or Python a plus.
