For Senior Database Administrator we are looking for not only technical aptitude, but also someone who is a self-starting problem solver, a continuous learner, highly flexible, and a great collaborator. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and have a high attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
Working with engineering teams to help architect and design data modeling. Ensuring our data is stored correctly, optimizing it for the different data lifecycle stages of production, reporting, and long term storage. Best practices in parameters and tuning, and in failover and resilience.
Requirements
- Degree in CS, CIS or equivalent
- 5+ years in DBA role
- Schema design: indexing/portioning
- Data lifecycles strategies from production, to warehouse, to long term including
- Database technologies Mysql and Aurora required
- Cloud experience with AWS or other cloud technologies
- Query and insight tools
- Data model and infrastructure design for server-less and containerized applications
- Security, resilience, failover
Recommended but not required
- Database technologies with MongoDB, DynamoDB and/or Redshift
- Experience in payments
- Experience working in hypergrowth company
