Data Scientist, Sales Growth Insights
Are you a data person who loves sales people? Do you love to see your data insights come to life quickly in the field? Zoom is seeking a Data Scientist for Sales Growth Insights to work as an embedded resource to Zoom’s Global Sales and Revenue leadership team. This data scientist will have a passion for the way advanced analytics and business intelligence accelerate Zoom’s revenue growth. The core areas this role will develop include, but aren’t limited to:
Aligning the right sales play and the right sales channel to the right opportunity
Increasing the upsell and cross-sell of new products to Happy Zoom Customers
Identifying high potential new opportunities through purchase intent modeling
Improving targeted, timely sales activity through ownership of core sales metrics and data management
What you’ll do:
Leverage your builder-minded data science archetype to build midsize business intelligence (BI) solutions for sales and revenue insights: data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses – or components of larger solutions to answer business questions with data.
Use well-defined requirements to build a solution that enables effective, data-driven business decisions. Deliver data products in an Agile environment.
Create and populate data structures using one or more schema definition languages (e.g. DDL, SDL, XSD, RDF)
Write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects, and automate manual processes where possible
Use Tableau, Salesforce, and Snowflake to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
Invent, refine, and develop BI solutions to ensure they meet the needs of the business and team goals
Troubleshoot data, analyses, and code, research root causes, propose solutions, and take ownership in next steps for their resolutions
Conceive and build solutions that seamlessly blend sales operations (i.e. Salesforce) data with product user analytics. Empower our sales teams to make strategic, data-driven decisions.
Develop a deep understanding of the SaaS/UCaaS industry and be able to understand how industry trends impact your work.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, computer science, computer engineering, information management/systems, business analytics or other equivalent technical discipline.
Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
Experience with building and maintain basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)
Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with scripting language. Most of the Data Team at Zoom uses Python or R.
Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end self-service analytics solutions (i.e. data modeling, dataset creation, refresh schedules, and visualizations). We use Tableau, dbt, and Snowflake.
Demonstrated Tableau experience such as level of detail (LOD) calculations, parameters, row level security (RLS), etc.
Application of basic statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared,regression) for difficult business problems.
Experience working with CRM, Salesforce or SaaS data.
Enjoys ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and data presentation skills
