Data Operations & Analytics Manager
Wowza Media Systems is seeking a Data Operations & Analytics Manager to develop and manage Wowza’s internal data collection and reporting methods in order to deliver key business insights and guidance for the highest-level company priorities. Operating in a small team, you will identify and execute scaled reporting mechanics, thoughtful analysis and build a core competency in predictive modeling & intelligence.

In this role you will work across Wowza’s complex business landscape as you create efficient and scalable reporting mechanics, test hypotheses, draw insights and become a strategic thought leader in architecting methods, procedures and tools for Wowza’s data operations program. You will own business reporting end-to-end, be the data steward for our reporting tools and methodologies and work with cross functional business leaders and senior-level executives to identify KPIs and areas of opportunity to drive incremental value creation.
You are capable of querying large databases, blending data, streamlining reports, and figuring out creative ways to get projects across the finish line.
What you will be doing:
- Program manage cross functional projects relating to data management, reporting and analytics
- Provide strong problem solving thought leadership and curiosity for complex and ambiguous problems
- Identify issues, develop hypotheses, and methodologies for translating data into meaningful insights
- Build out a core competency for measuring, monitoring and optimizing overall business health and performance
- Communicate findings and deliver key takeaways and guidance to business stakeholders and department leaders
- Act as business data SME and lead cross-functional activities to improve data transparency, quality and reporting efficiency within and between disparate sources.
Experience we'd like you to have:
Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Business, quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
- Familiar working with large data sets and analytical tools, including database languages like SQL
- Exceptional skills using tools like Excel expert and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau
- Demonstrated proficiency in regression techniques, statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Strong familiarity with database structures and big data environments
- Self-motivated, naturally curious and able to formulate hypotheses, design tests, and drive measurable results
- Excellent attention to detail, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to deal with competing priorities and ambiguity
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA degree or graduate degree in a management, technical, or engineering field
- 6 years of relevant work experience in fast paced, technical environment (technology / software industry preferred)
- Documented experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, business intelligence, data science or corporate strategy
- Early stage company experience
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with impeccable business judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be personable yet persistent.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
