Tenere is currently in the process of building a data warehouse and rolling out a new business intelligence infrastructure. We are looking for a subject matter expert in the field to help guide Tenere through this process.

The Data Engineer develops, maintains, and tests infrastructures for data generation to transform data into a format that can be easily analyzed to drive key business decisions.  Partners with data scientists/analysts and cross-functional teams to discover, collect, cleanse, and refine the data needed for analysis and modeling.

Major Job Functions:

• Develops, constructs, tests and maintains data pipeline architectures and tools
• Aligns architecture with key business requirements
• Extensive Azure SQL knowledge including the ability to write high-level, complex queries
• Identifies ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
• Familiarity with one of the following: Scala, Apache Hadoop, Spark
• Conducts research for industry and business questions
• Prepares data for predictive and prescriptive modeling
• Use data to discover tasks that can be automated
• Manages all ETL functions (Extract, Transform, Load) Familiarity with ETL processes from Linux based systems a plus
• Understands and implements best practices in the management of enterprise data
• Utilizes data visualization tools such as Power BI & Tableau 
   

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in computer science, information technology, statistics, applied math, or another quantitative field.  Five plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess good organizational and strong project management skills
