Data Analyst

We are currently looking for an Data Analyst to join our Denver Office. As an Data Analyst, you will play an integral role in supporting PointsBet's continued growth and success.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Develop and maintain regulatory reports (SQL Scripts & Python)
• Develop Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Dictionary
• Become a subject matter expert in PointsBet data
• Works with reporting team to design optimized Data warehouse solutions for reporting use cases
• Work with Microsoft data solutions stack (Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure CosmosDB)
• Responsible for the quality of regulatory reports and data models in Data warehouse,
• Work with other BI developers and analysts in delivering value to the company and the different stakeholders
• Comply with the procedures and processes used within the Data Engineering team, ensuring all work undertaken is executed consistently and professionally
• Perform Business Intelligence duties including but not limited to business analysis, information analysis, data transformation, data modelling, report development, system monitoring, user training and documentation
• Keep abreast of current and emerging capabilities in analytical technologies and how these can be applied to the product and business opportunities

SKILLS WE SEEK

• Expert in writing SQL Query, including understanding of leveraging index and partitions
• Advanced data modelling skills with the ability to translate business requirements to fit for purpose data products
• Experience working with event-oriented data sets of large size, semi-structured data and diverse schemas
• Worked with GIT and CI/CD pipeline (preferably Azure DevOps / VSTS)
• Experience in Power BI or equivalent reporting tool (Tableau)
• Experience with Python
• Experience working with DBT is a bonus
• Experience in Databricks is a bonus
• Experience working in Azure environment (focusing on Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Gen2, etc.)
• Proven ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
• Strong problem-solving skills and determination to provide solutions to problems
• Proven drive for self-learning - you will be provided with the training and coaching required to succeed but your self-driven & ambitious mentality will help your success
• Desirable: B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
