Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer

Full-time, Exempt

Location: Boulder, CO (Only Considering Local Candidates)

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for the design and maintenance of the architecture for our GreenEdge platform. The developer makes key technical design decisions to ensure the creation and maintenance of a scalable and robust data warehouse architecture. The BI Developer also ensures the data warehouse design supports the reporting, business intelligence and data integration needs of the company. This role requires collaboration with IS and Infrastructure teams as well as key organizational stakeholders.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:  

• Interface and work with business stakeholders to understand the business and functional requirements to develop and architect an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platform
• Develop application specific logical and physical data models
• Play a leadership role in the design, implementation and development of ETL processes
• Define the strategy and design for creation of a Data Warehouse Data Quality strategy
• Manage all aspects of the data architecture, including models, data staging and ETL framework
• Collaborate with other cross-functional IT software/data personnel on development of EDW components
• Establishes standards for data warehouse reporting technology, as well as design, development, implementation and maintenance processes
• Perform database administration duties (upgrades, service packs and patches)
• Maintain and document operational environment
• Present information through reports and visualization
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems

Required Qualifications:  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

• Design and develop database objects, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers
• Design, build, test, and execute ETL packages, including automation of ETL jobs 
• Identify new solutions for creating an optimal analytical layer across all organizational data, working to improve quality and frequency of data
• Comprehensive understanding of relational database design principles
• Experience documenting complex data architectures, ETL processes, and data systems
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
• Experience creating process and procedure around data cleansing and data normalization
• Experience designing databases, including physical storage and data architecture concepts
• Solid experience and ability to document and explain data modeling to technical and non-technical resources
• Background or familiarity with Data Governance, Metadata Management, Taxonomy Management, Master Data Management and Data Security

Education, Certification and Experience:  

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming or related field preferred, or comparable job-related experience and training
• Data Management and Analytics or Business Intelligence certifications are preferred
• 3-5 years of Data Architecture experience

Technology Experience:  

• Snowflake
• SQL Server Technologies: T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS
• ETL packages 
• Reporting & Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS, Power BI)
