Position Summary
We are growing fast and need an insightful Business Analyst to join our team. You will work as part of a self-managed Scrum team to drive business results for Product Owners. Your main tasks will include performing detailed business analysis, developing user stories, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role, you should be naturally analytical, be an effective team player, and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluates business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
- Combines knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built developing user stories for a given application
- Serves as the primary liaison between Business, Development and Testing teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Defines acceptance criteria for user stories
- Identifies user personas, documents persona characteristics, identifies appropriate representatives or systems for each persona and determines their responsibilities and how they interact
- Schedules and leads requirements sessions with stakeholders
- Creates help presentations/documentation for end users and internal support teams
- Facilitates implementation of new functionality through training and demonstrations
- Plans and leads user acceptance testing
- Serves as a liaison between stakeholders and users
- Manages competing resources and priorities
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge through continuous learning of latest methodology and technology to improve operation effectiveness and efficiency
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in business analysis
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
- Excellent documentation skills
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- A track record of following through on commitments
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- A good working background working in a Scrum environment and self-managed teams
- A history of leading and supporting successful projects
- Experience with Financial Services or Fin/Tech industries including security and PII challenges preferred
