Please note: this role is located in our Denver, CO office; we work off a hybrid model and come into the office 2 days per week. 

Job Description

The Data Developer creates data tools and processes to support the operation of the Tipico sportsbook and casino business. The support provided by BI Developer consist of addressing data related queries from stakeholders in all corners of the company by creating data products such as dashboards, reports, analysis, and automation. The role holder will manage various projects within data integration and visualization, as well as perform advanced analyses to reveal business insights. Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver business intelligence solutions and provide thought leadership and technical consultation to various stakeholders (including but not limited to teams in product, bookmaking, casino, operations, finance, customer support, marketing)
  • Develop user-friendly dashboards and reports adapted to a heterogeneous audience
  • Innovate and find ways to generate value to our customer
  • Support business with Ad-Hoc Reporting requests
  • Performing deep analyses to provide business insight and aid in the creation of advanced data products
  • Find ways to optimize the current data environment and BI stack, and automate processes
  • Write Complex SQL statements and data models
  • Support a culture of operational excellence and data literacy

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

  • Relevant work experience: 0-3 years
  • Background desirable: digital companies, online, gambling, gaming, e-commerce, marketing, etc.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that balance with creative approaches
  • A bias for action and ability to proactively push projects forward
  • Willingness and curiosity to learn new technical skills and concepts
  • Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills
  • Ability to create stories with data and generate insights

Language

  • Fluent in English, Oral and written – essential

Functional and Technical Competence

  • Advanced SQL skills – ability to write complex queries on large datasets with many joins, CTEs, window functions etc.
  • Highly proficient with Domo, Superset or related dashboarding tools (Looker, Tableau etc.).
  • Solid technical background with a complete understanding of database design and modelling using big data technologies such as AWS RedShift, Clickhouse and other similar technologies
  • Strong analytical mindset, while considering efficiency and making solutions business-oriented
  • Strong Excel and data visualization skills
  • Preferred: Python/R experience or competency with other scripting language
  • Preferred: Any experience with advanced analytics, data science, or automation projects

Salary range for this role is $90-100k.

Our Denver office is centrally located in downtown Denver surrounded by some of the best places to hang out in the city. We love the short walk from the train station to the office as well as the close proximity to our favorite places to grab lunch and team drinks after work!
