We are searching for a System Administrator to join our Production Engineering team. You'll be responsible for driving the operational success of the product, interfacing primarily with our Technical Support and Engineering teams to ensure that our customers' experience with the product and our internal objectives and key results are being met.
Who You Are
You are a technical problem solver with a solid understanding of virtual Linux systems operating within Cloud and Container management systems, and with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) applications running on those systems. You understand the balance between addressing immediate operational issues and root cause analysis, allowing you to deliver a great customer experience while at the same time identifying and addressing known failure modes. You have the ability to script solutions to automate manual tasks and pro-actively address expected failure modes. You consider your willingness to learn and collaborate, resourcefulness, and patience as some of your strongest qualities.

What You'll Do
- Respond to and resolve issues reported by internal or external customers by debugging, performing root cause analysis, and working closely with external EDR technical support and/or internal engineering as needed.
- Manage the configuration, from definition to deployment, of our cloud-hosted server fleet - identifying and eliminating inefficiencies while proposing improvements that improve the overall customer experience.Monitor the performance of the fleet, support targeted improvements to observability, striving to minimize operational incidents.
- Participate in the team’s pager rotation, so that we can respond to operational incidents affecting our hosted server fleet.
- Work closely with Technical Support to understand support trends, providing technical guidance and reducing our time to resolve issues affecting customers.
You may be a fit for the System Administrator role if you:
- Have acted as a System Administrator in a previous capacity, with familiarity and demonstrated success troubleshooting and correcting operational issues related to the following: Linux Server configuration, Networking, VPN configuration, Amazon Web Services monitoring and management tools and services, Web server, database, and message-queue technologies
- A demonstrated ability to use one or more of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Bash
- Understand the purpose of Configuration and Infrastructure as Code
- Understand and effectively leverage infrastructure automation such as: Puppet, SaltStack, and Terraform
- Have a strong urge to collaborate across internal teams and with our customers and partners.
- Have a high degree of empathy for the Customer, and feel the only measure of success is how well our products fulfill customer needs.
- Have a positive attitude and default to action. If you see something that may negatively impact the customer experience, you dive right in, isolate the issue, and ensure we do whatever it takes to eliminate it.
