Job Description
Conga is looking for a Technical Writer who has experience writing and managing documentation for highly-technical products in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience writing and managing online documentation in an Agile development environment. The candidate will also be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures and deliver documentation to users with a high-level of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and prepare technical articles, release notes and other technical documentation for Conga’s suite of products
- Ensure documentation is clear, concise and easy to use; create documentation appropriate to the intended audience
- Write content based on a strategy for product documentation that leverages content management best practices
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts and work with a variety of internal teams on documentation requirements and learn products well enough to explain them clearly
- Gather product information needed to produce documentation, including proactively participating in Product Development meetings, using the product, testing the product, researching technology, and interviewing application development personnel
- Review and write in-line help content as well as task-based writing for user experience
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technical communication or related field
- 3-5 years' experience writing technical documentation
- Strong interviewing skills and ability to build relationships with Subject Matter Experts
- Ability to analyze the audience and communicate complex technical topics to users at all levels
- Ability to quickly learn, demonstrate and reapply learning from specialized areas
- Attention to detail, excellent communication skills and proficiency in proofreading or editing, writing, and verbal communication
- Ability to research, design, and write new documentation, as well as to maintain and improve existing materials
- Ability to assist in scoping documentation efforts and creation of timelines to meet deliverables
- Experience writing technical documents for SaaS products in an agile environment
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Conga products and HTML, CSS, and XML a plus
- DITA and topic-based writing experience a plus
