FoodMaven is seeking an individual that has the skills and experience to support FoodMaven’s Government and Industry Affairs Team to make connections with key decision makers in the public and private sector, manage relationships with non-profit partners, and seek out and take advantage of funding opportunities. This role reports to the Government and Industry Affairs Manager. Successful applicants will have a demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and adaptable in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop background and briefing documents for executives and colleagues
  • Perform research and write content for funding opportunities
  • Work externally to manage relationships with public and private partners at industry events and relevant state, local, and federal government entities
  • Engage with local partners in existing and potential FoodMaven MSA’s

 

Basic qualifications 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excels at self-driven tasks
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment
  • 2 years of experience working in politics or industry affairs
  • Experience analyzing complex power dynamics in political and institutional contexts
  • Experience producing long form written content and performing in depth research

 

Preferred qualifications

  • At least one cycle of campaign management experience at the statewide level or higher
  • 2 years of experience working in politics or industry affairs
  • Previous grant writing experience
