The Content Development Specialist writes, develops, deploys, and manages compliance, safety, and software content, ensuring our materials are consistent and engaging. The Content Development Specialist produces high-quality content that influences positive behavior change and increased software utilization. This role requires cross-functional collaboration and leadership working closely with product and services teams.
The Content Development Specialist is well versed in clear, concise writing, strategic communications, and managing activities such as content development, research, infographic creation. This position develops value-added EHS content that strengthens our relationship with clients and drives desirable safety behaviors. The Content Development Specialist is able to write about and present technical environmental, health, and safety concepts and regulations and make them understandable, interesting, appealing, and effective.
This position requires a hands-on individual who is an excellent communicator, an experienced writer, and who can take projects from concept to implementation. They must have a proven track record of developing effective content strategies that drive client understanding and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Absorbing complex research and information and writing about it in an original, logical, clear, engaging, and professional manner.
- Accounting for visual ways to present information, using online tools and collaborating with visual artists.
- Collaborate on an editorial strategy and content for use in KPA software, and in thought leadership initiatives.
- Manage in-software, online help articles and develop tutorials to increase software understanding.
- Writing and creating materials that will motivate workplace safety and behavior change.
- Develop and execute on a written communication strategy.
- Collaborate with Training & Content team members to produce downloadable resources on EHS regulations and safety and environmental topics.
- Track content KPIs and build reporting to monitor the effectiveness of communication activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar preferably in a B2B technology environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, skills, including visual concepting.
- A proven track record delivering high quality, typo-free, communications or content programs.
- Basic familiarity using Adobe Creative Suite and other design products.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with strong implementation skills – instinctively understands how to make things clear, concise, and interesting.
- Relationship building, vendor management, and negotiating skills.
