Based out of our Broomfield, CO headquarters and reporting to the CFO, the VP, Corporate Controller will lead the global accounting and control functions for the Company, including the production of financial reports, ensuring that reported results comply with GAAP, managing the audit of the Company’s financial statements, the maintenance of our system of record and the implementation, monitoring and enforcement of internal controls, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will be expected to champion accounting initiatives within the company and to work cross-functionally to create and/or improve processes and procedures and implement controls;  should have superior written and oral communication skills and be comfortable presenting information to, and working with, executive level management and the audit committee; should be a skilled leader and mentor with a track record of recruiting, managing and developing talent; must be familiar with all aspects of accounting operations; and, must possess superior technical accounting/GAAP expertise. The ideal candidate must also be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic growth environment, with shifting priorities and objectives.  You should be prepared to drive our accounting and control functions towards a potential IPO in the next 12 to 24 months, must be comfortable building out new capabilities, creating processes from scratch and working with and influencing other functions to drive adoption and compliance with these processes.  If you feel this is what you have been looking for, come join our team today.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Mentor, manage and direct the accounting management team and staff 
  • Ensuring the Company’s financial reporting is compliant with GAAP
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on business issues and accounting matters
  • Manage the relationship with the Company’s auditors
  • Ensure timely close process and reporting
  • Develop and implement internal controls and process improvements to optimize the timeliness and quality of accounting deliverables
  • Proactively develop and implement accounting strategies and process to enable the business and accommodate growth
  • Work with IT to enhance systems capabilities around financial reporting and the quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay and processes
  • Represent accounting matters and initiatives to executive staff and the audit committee
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Required skills include but are not limited to:

  • 12+ years accounting experience with a mix of public, private and in-house accounting roles
  • Bachelor degree with a specialization in accounting, finance and/or business;  masters a plus
  • CPA required
  • Must be a strong technical accountant
  • Must be process-oriented with the ability to identify gaps and drive process improvement to meet best practice standards
  • Track record of managing and developing people
  • Must be a self-starter that is comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with CRM, ECommerce and ERP systems, comfortable driving implementations;
  • Excellent communication skills within and across departments/teams
  • Comfortable interacting and communicating at the Executive level
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and resources in parallel to meet aggressive deadlines

Preferred skills include but are not limited to:

  • IPO and/or SEC reporting experience a plus
  • Experience with acquisitions and due diligence a plus
  • Public accounting/audit experience a plus
  • Experience in the technology industry and/or subscription business models a plus
  • Experience with international operations and consolidations a plus
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
