The Cheat Sheet is looking for a full-time Technical Support Engineer to join our team to provide application and technical support to our staff, and work closely with the Tech team on quality assurance. This role reports directly to our Director of Technology.


As our Technical Support Engineer you will:

  • Report directly to the Director of Technology

  • Provide front line support for staff across all our business platforms

  • Take ownership of issues reported and see problems through to resolution

  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve issues

  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams

  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback

  • Generate and track quality assurance metrics

  • Implement testing plans for all code releases

  • Perform thorough regression testing when defects are resolved

  • Administer a defect tracking system, a test case management system, and related test infrastructure

What will you need to be successful in this role:

  • Strong project management skills and the passion to continue to learn new technologies in your field.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical staff.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment.

  • Experience with WordPress.

  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Familiar with mobile and Web application development.

  • Required Skills:

    • PHP

    • MySQL

    • Javascript, jQuery

    • HTML/CSS

    • Yii Framework or MVC Framework experience

    • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming

    • Standards compliant coding practices

    • Experience with revision control, particularly Mercurial

    • Hadoop

    • Wordpress

    • Linux CLI

    • PHPDoc
