The Sustaining Engineering Manager will lead a group of 10-12 engineers for the resolution of support escalations and improvement to existing products. The main focus being to improve the quality, reliability, and usability of these products. This role will report to the Manager of Current Product Engineering and interact directly with management and engineers in engineering, operations, supply chain, marketing, product management and technical support.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects is required.
Job Requirements
- Manage and develop the skill set within the sustaining engineering group to ensure that business objectives are met. Regularly review staff proficiency, plan development needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training
- Provide escalation management, reporting and assistance on customer escalations.
- Drive continuous improvement for the processes and tools used by the Current Product Engineering Group.
- Sustain all released products and manage product design changes for the entire product life cycle (from launch through obsolescence). Assign resources to sustaining engineering projects, and develop a system to evaluate the priority of sustaining projects and initiatives.
- Drive effective root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for any product related issues.

Education and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor or manager is required.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects is required.
