Summary

DigitalGlobe is searching for someone who is innovative, curious and willing to think outside the box in a highly collaborate and fast paced environment.   Are you passionate about new technologies, cloud, IAAS, PAAS, Automation then DigitalGlobe would like to talk to talk to you.  This position provides senior level engineering of the Digital Globe network infrastructure, LAN, WAN and AWS cloud environments along with all associate equipment at all DG locations.  This position will be a key role within the Network Infrastructure development team and take direction from the Network IT Manager.  Responsibilities will include ability to work across teams and organizations to enhance our sphere of influence and help us move to the cloud and ensure we remain engaged and knowledgeable about business needs and future roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the corporate LAN and WAN
  • Oversee the operation of all LAN connections at all locations:
    Data Center, Mission Control Center, general headquarters office, branch offices, etc.
    Engineering, implementation,  and operation of all related equipment:
  • Switches
  • Routers
  • Firewalls ( Palo Alto, SRX )
  • Load balancing  ( F5, NetScaler )
  • Monitoring tools ( Nimsoft, Kabana, Cacti )
  • Infoblox
  • Aruba wireless
  • Oversee the implementation/operation of all the WAN circuits:
    Point to Point and Multipoint WAN connectivity
    Dedicated leased lines to various customers
    VPN links to various customers and remote sites
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the AWS cloud infrastructure and be able to collaborate and work across teams
  • 24x7 Tier support for all of the above

Administer IT Security

  • In conjunction with the Network Security team:
    Help maintain infrastructure security.
    Oversee the operation of the network-based portion of the security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IDP, and VPN.
  • Oversee the on-going review and auditing of the entire security infrastructure across all infrastructure teams (e.g., Windows, UNIX, and Storage).

Required Skills

  • This person must possess a strong client focus and have the following experience:
  • At least 8 years’ experience administering LANs and WANs (data, voice) in a complex operational environment with the need for 4 nines uptime.
  • Solid knowledge of data / IP networking and protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, GRE, TCP, FTP, DNS)
  • Extensive experience with networking products: Juniper routers and switches, Paloalto and Juniper firewalls
  • Extensive experience with application load balancing technologies (F5, APM, iRules, advanced troubleshooting)
  • Experience with i) network security issues and solutions and ii) general IT infrastructure security issues and solutions.
  • Experience with Wireless technologies ( Aruba, Clearpass)
  • Experience with Infoblox ( DNS,DHCP, NetMRI etc.)
  • Documentation experience (creation and maintenance).  Experience with Word and Visio, creating and maintaining SOPs, Maintenance plans, network drawings, etc.

 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience implementing Juniper EX switching platforms, SRX firewalls, and M series routers.
  • Experience with the following service providers and their data / voice services: Verizon, Qwest, Level3, AT&T.
    Solid knowledge of voice networking and protocols.
  • AWS Cloud experience, Customer Gateways, Direct Connects, VPNs
  • Proficient in using Python, Shell or Ruby scripting to automate and solve network issues including problem identification, resolution, tooling, and reporting
  • Some Dev and/or Dev/Ops experience desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in the Agile framework and process

 

Candidates must be:

  • Able to work across teams in a highly cross function environment.
  • Able to communication  at both the technical and business level
  • Detail Oriented
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • S. Citizen with a current DoD clearance (Secret) or the ability to obtain one
  • Candidates must want to proactively engage the business in order to understand its challenges and deliver high-value solutions
