Cartasite seeks a full-time software Quality Assurance Engineer here in Denver, CO. The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures quality assurance for business applications throughout the software development and application operational lifecycle. Supports a diverse technical platform of real-time vehicle telematics, driver safety, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the Oil and Gas industry and other vertical segments.

What you will do:

  • Analyze business and software design requirements and user acceptance criteria to determine appropriate overall quality assurance activities. Develop and execute test plans to address unit, functional, system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with product managers, scrum master, software engineers, and sales staff to define and develop testing scenarios to assure adequate test coverage and defined quality standards.
  • Estimate resource requirements and coordinate with product managers and scrum master to ensure work is integrated into the development schedule.
  • Ensure test environment, data, tools and scripts are properly prepared, initialized and controlled to support test activities.
  • Test all system components, including API, web, mobile, authentication, reports, and databases using SQL.
  • Establish automated testing for Web, Android, and iOS applications using preferred tools based on prior experience, with a goal of integrating regression tests into build cycle.
  • Collaborate with tier 3 support teams to work on Customer-reported issues.
  • Attend all agile team meetings, such as Scrum Ceremonies.
  • Document defects with detailed description emphasizing the point of failure, steps to reproduce the error and providing screenshots where necessary.
  • Work as an SME for the various applications to create documentation and assist various teams in the company with the knowledge of the domain.
REQUIREMENTS

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience as Quality Assurance Engineer or related.
  • Able to come into office daily during normal business hours.
  • Experience must include:
    • Quality assurance planning, test case writing, test case scripting, test data initialization, test case execution, verification and validation analysis, and quality assurance reporting.
    • Experience working in an agile environment and should be familiar with agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
    • Familiarity with all phases of the software life cycle, including experience supporting Agile development projects along with experience with requirements and design specification methods are required.
    • Experience reading and writing basic SQL, API, Web, and Mobile testing.
    • Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, AWS Device Farm, etc.).
    • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with development teams. \
