SendGrid is a fast growing, fast moving cloud-based transactional email service provider. We have a lot of brilliant minds that impact the company every day. We're looking for a summer Software Engineering Intern for the Denver office who wants to make a difference.

What You’ll Do

  • You would be a member of an exciting team integral to our high-delivery, high-availability email pipeline.

  • You will get some hard-core engineering experience by being entrenched with a team fighting the good fight against spammers.

  • There are a few major projects you could play a key role in.

  • Adaptive Delivery: develop the ability to dynamically determine and apply throughput rates for senders to specific ISPs based on real time feedback.

  • Reputation Score: working with compliance agents to improve our internal score that determines how good a sender is, by applying additional internal statistics as well as external 3rd party services.

  • Day to day activities would include working with the entire team including project owner and scrum master to further define and development stories/tasks.

  • You will develop software (often paired programming) to complete assigned tasks, including writing comprehensive unit tests.

  • Working with QA to validate completed code in a staging environment will also be key.

  • See the fruit of your labor by working with senior members to deploy code into production.

  • You'll be working a standard 40 hour work week during the summer, with flexible hours.

  • Be goofy. Eat lunch with the team. Enjoy the work you're doing. Be an all around ass-kicker!

About You

  • Ideally, you will by a Computer Science major currently enrolled in a university or technical school with a strong grasp on O.O. concepts.
  • It would be best if you have a working knowledge of any/all of the following: Ruby, Python, GO, Java, Perl
  • You must have a willingness to learn new languages and technologies and the ability to become proficient in a short amount of time. Please realize that learning does not stop after college.
  • You should be able to work without constant supervision, but still able to effectively communicate and pair with team members.
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions and make suggestions and be heard, and don't be afraid to make mistakes as well as correct and learn from them.

  • And you should be able to have fun and not be serious all the time.
