NetApp SolidFire is actively seeking an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to create innovative and highly functional web applications. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. 

Some technologies you’ll be working with include Scala/Java, Angular.js, Bootstrap, RabbitMQ, Cassandra, MySQL, and Hadoop. In this role, you’ll work closely with the rest of the web development team and product management to develop the next generation of NetApp SolidFire’s customer experience, so communication skills and comfort with the critique process are crucial.

Qualified candidates must be self-driven, team-oriented, and have a strong background delivering applications across the full spectrum of web development. 

More specific, must-have requirements include: 

- Strong oral and written communication skills 
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards 
- Experience building full-stack, complex, efficient applications 
- Use test-driven development to guide implementation 
- Experience interacting with and building web APIs (REST, JSON-RPC) 
- Java or Scala experience developing highly performing, distributed systems. 
- Linux platform experience (additional OS a plus) 
- Understanding of software frameworks and the ability to pick up new frameworks quickly 
- Participate as a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects 
- Demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others 
- Proven ability to deliver work in a team and individually 
- Experience working in a fast paced Agile environment 

Plus Skills 

- NoSQL database experience e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, Hive 
- Previous experience working with complex source code and/or scripts 
- Proficiency in at least one dynamically typed language such as Python or Ruby 
- Experience with Puppet, Chef, Ansible and/or Terraform

Education & Experience: 

- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. 6 to 8 years of experience is preferred 
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required 
- Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks
