Job Duties and Responsibilities
Senior Engineer - Embedded sought by DISH Network, LLC in Englewood, CO. Provide deep technical insight into the design of new features. Provide technical and subject matter training to other teams who need assistance in specific areas. Lead new feature development efforts by breaking down feature requirements into user stories and assigning tasks. Proactively provide stability improvements on issues detected from monitoring systems. Provide status on responsible features and products to different levels of the organization. Work closely with architects to understand long term vision and goals when incorporating features into the system. Design and develop embedded real time software in C, C++, Java, etc. for Dish set top boxes. Responsible for delivering reliable software components that fit seamlessly in the common codebase. Work collaboratively with and support the needs of multiple teams and organizations to achieve product development. Participate in code reviews, brainstorming meetings, and cross training sessions. Develop test cases and plans to ensure a full module and end-to-end testing. Proactively develop strategies and procedures to help the team work more efficiently and effectively, and to improve the quality and maintainability of code. Develop new features based on requirements documents, including development of use cases and test plans. Debug real time embedded systems using emulators and debuggers.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Requires Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 4 years of experience in job offered or as Engineer II - Embedded. Also requires 4 years of work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):

  • Linux OS and system programming
  • C/C++
  • Java
  • TCP/IP protocols
  • Multi-threaded programming
  • GNU make and debugger


Salary Ranges
Compensation: $152,069.00/Year - $152,069.00/Year
