ViaWest, Inc., a super-regional provider of Hybrid IT Solutions has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Security Engineer to manage, maintain, and grow our corporate and customer-facing quality assurance and information security program. What you'll do:

• Provides oversight and expertise for a variety of security operations functions, including monitoring of security tools and reports, anomaly detection and translation.  Provides security incident management support, escalation, remediation and follow-up for identified security issues.
• Provides oversight for and may participate in vulnerability scans and penetration testing against internal and hosted systems.   Provides management of overall vulnerability management program, including remediation, validation, and escalation and reporting.
• Handles security escalations from engineering and operations teams, as well as vendors. 
• Assists with the design and implementation of security solutions, technical controls and interfaces with security vendors. 
• Quality validation and review of platform, delivery, architecture designs and security.
• Implements, maintains, configures security tools and assists with break-fix.
• Assists and implements remediation of risk, problem management, vulnerability and incident resolution.
• Performs and provides oversight for secured access administration processes and procedures.
• Participates in on-call rotations for logical and physical security support.
• Assists during compliance audits, including providing evidence, meeting with auditors, updating policies and procedures, validation and remediating any identified issues.
• Technical security oversight of security tools, alert and response, notification communications and asset management

About You:

• 3-5 years of experience in IT security and compliance, with IT or service provider experience.
• Strong familiarity with security and compliance engineering and operations practices.
• Proficiency with security configurations and standards in network, Windows and Linux.
• Experience with equipment from vendors including Fortigate, Cisco and VMware.
• Solid understanding of IP networking and virtualization technologies.
• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server and workstation security.
• Familiarity with physical access control systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Flexibility to Support 24 / 7 / 365 operations.
• Familiarity with Nessus, SIEM solutions, Tripwire, Trend, or similar security tools/products.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and interface with partner teams and vendors.

Formal Training or Education:

• BA/BS education or equivalent experience
• CISSP / CISA or working toward these or equivalent certifications
