We are seeking a Networking Systems Engineer with a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work closely with our technology partners to design, implement, test, and successfully deploy the data networking architectures of our spacecraft. The ideal candidate has experience with spacecraft & ground system networking design, cryptographic architectures, and various methods of spacecraft communications. This is a collaborative role where you can expect to interact with our Cyber and Crypto Engineers, Electrical and Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, Suppliers, and Customers to implement cutting-edge designs that ensure the security and success of York’s most innovative programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design networking architectures, interfaces, and security methods for spacecraft and space & ground networks
• Work with suppliers and mission partners to successfully implement network designs in hardware, firmware, and software
• Support testing and verification of crypto and networking hardware, software, and infrastructure
• Ensure compliance to cybersecurity requirements and implementation of approved processes across programs
• Serve as subject-matter expert for a variety of networking functions such as IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, IPSEC, and configuration management of routers (using SNMP, NETCONF/YANG)
• Provides guidance and training to York employees
• Participates in evaluation, testing, and deployment of new technologies
• Advise engineering leadership on new technologies, standards, and solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

• US Personship required. Active security clearance or the ability to gain security experience required.
• Technical Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
• CCNA-level networking knowledge; basic scripting knowledge (e.g. python, bash)
• Familiarity with configuring IP stacks on Linux hosts and routers
• Working knowledge of encryption technologies/methods (e.g. IPSec, VPN, AES, GRE, SHA)
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teambuilding skills
• Ability to confidently convey technical information to senior leaders and customers
• 5+ years of experience in the aerospace or space industry, particularly on DOD programs
• Experience with the space industry, space operations, and space networks preferred
• Experience with COMSEC, TRANSEC, and related cybersecurity requirements preferred
• Experience with remote mgmt. and config. of network devices, particularly SNMP and NETCONF preferred
