Job Summary: 
As a Marketing Manager you work individually and as part of the NetApp Corporate Messaging and Marketing team. This group develops and puts into market a cohesive, comprehensive and dynamic NetApp story that spans market customer needs and brand loyalty. We: 

• Manage a Marketing strategy that characterizes our produce portfolio and roadmap to drive desired customer outcomes 
• Ensure Marketing program investments align to strategies and produce expected returns 
• Deliver NetApp positioning that is market-tested and reflected in all go-to-market assets, deliverables 
• Support all messaging with proof points and evidence 
• Amplify messaging through consistent, compelling use in all major NetApp events 

The primary intent of the role is to help the business increase product adoption for current customers and position the business for growth by helping NetApp enter new market segments and reach new buyers. 

Essential Functions: 
As a Marketing Manager you participate on one or more of the following areas that support the Messaging and Marketing Strategy team. You will also, a more senior member of the team, provide mentorship and support to more junior Marketing Managers. 

Market Analysis: 
- Identify business opportunities through market assessments 
- Market sizing and segmentation including buyer persona analysis 
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate existing and potential product and service markets 
- Identify and monitor competitors 
- Track general business indicators, including market share, and competitor's marketing and sales program activities 
- Develop and conduct surveys for customer needs and satisfaction from existing products 

Enablement: 
- Develop and conduct field and partner messaging training 
- Support Executive Briefings as needed 
- Help coach top account teams on messaging, receive feedback 

Go-to-market: 
- Support messaging development for events, trade shows and sales meetings 
- Help drive NetApp editorial content with relevant themes, topics 
- Help create customer- and internal-facing assets as needed 

Teamwork/interaction: 
- Work closely with executive staff and product teams 
- Maintain close relationships with corporate marketing teams 
- Point of contact for internal customers initiating work within the department or checking the status of jobs already in progress. 

Communication/Presentation: 
- Create reports and presentations 
- Deliver presentations to multi-level of internal employees and external customers 
- Present research results to business leaders 
- Support public relations through researching, writing and editing press releases 
- Coordinate website content and development with cross-functional teams 

General: 
- Tracking invoices and receipts against budget 
- Create timelines and dashboards 
- Recommend marketing activities and create marketing plans including estimating costs and managing project to completion 
- Reporting for marketing director and finance department on fiscal status 
- Develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace 
- Identify and maintain relationships with product partners, third party vendors, etc. 
-Provide mentorship and direction to more junior Marketing Managers.

Requirements: 
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills. 
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and on cross functional teams. 
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas. 
- Marketing experience in the technology industry. 
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities. 
- Broad understanding of NetApp's products and services technologies/concepts in a distributed environment. 

Responsibility and Interaction: 
- Tasks are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches. 
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation. 
- Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions. 

Interaction: 
- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within and across functions and with external parties. 
- Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently. 
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert. 
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.

Education & Experience: 
- A minimum of 8 years of experience is required; 9 to 11 years of experience is preferred. 
- A Bachelor of Arts of Science Degree is required, or equivalent experience. 

- Prior Corporate Messaging and Marketing experience with an enterprise global high tech company 
- Prior experience developing and marketing a cohesive, comprehensive and dynamic story that spans market customer needs and brand loyalty. 

- Prior experience managing a Marketing strategy that characterizes products, produces a portfolio and roadmap to drive desired customer outcomes 

- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
