Teliax, Inc. is a global leader in IP based telephony SaaS. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer located in Denver, CO.

The Teliax network is fully redundant, multi homed and distributed across multiple POP's in Denver, New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles. Teliax offers voice and data services to SMB and enterprise business as well as wholesale "carriers carrier" services to the telecom industry.

As a Teliax Engineer, you will be an integral manager of the Technical Operations team, providing hands-on technical expertise and leadership relating to its customer facing network and software deployment. You will need to be comfortable with juggling multiple high-priority tasks, have a drive to exceed expectations, and be willing to hit the ground running getting your hands dirty along the way.

Job Responsibilities

• Extreme comfort level with command line linux and unix environments (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu)

• Design/architect complex network infrastructure environments (high availability and network traffic volume) of Teliax's production and next generation networks, spanning multiple geographical locations. (May require travel to remote offices and data centers.)

• Design/architect VoIP networks using SIP (Freeswitch, Kamailio, OpenSIPs)

• Install, configure and manage LANs, WANs, wireless networks, routers, switches, firewalls, UPSs, and other network hardware.

• Supports administration of a 24x7network infrastructure; provide 24x7 off-hour on-call.

• Manages network user access and permissions (ldap, radius, openvpn).

• Design SQL schema and queries, stored procedures, calls and scripts (MySql and Postgres). 

• Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure.

• Perform troubleshooting analysis of problems with network infrastructure and associated systems working with ISP or vendors.

• Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.

• Maintain and update network infrastructure documentation.

• Monitors network system performance and implements performance tuning.

• Oversee network security (internal and external).

• Work effectively on cross departmental projects; strong change management abilities.

• Generate and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.

• Manage installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

• Provide prompt communication and status reports on critical activities.

• Effectively work independently on projects/tasks.

• Mentor other team members.

Required Skills:

• 2-5 years of Network administration/Engineer experience required.

• Strong working knowledge with (Vo)IP communication and routing (*SIP*, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).

• Ability to write command line scripts with at least one scripting language (ruby, python, lua, javascript).

• Strong SQL knowledge. 

• Working experience with logical design models (Spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling).

• Strong working Knowledge of VOICE and DATA transport technologies (Ethernet, MPLS, TDM, SS7, PRI circuits).

• Knowledge of network control protocols (CoS, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS/SSL, AAA, IPSec).

• Strong interpersonal and written and spoken communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience working in a team-oriented, joint environment, preferably in a 24/7/365 SaaS/Cloud organization/company.

• Certifications (Bonus): MCSE, CCNA, CCNE, CCNP, CCIE, CNE

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.

• Systems: UNIX, Linux Cisco (IOS), Juniper (Junos)

• Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, SIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS

Salary - ~$90k/yr (Negotiable, DoE)
