 As a Lead Back-End Software Engineer on the OAS Squad, you will collaborate with designers, developers, agile coaches and product managers to develop and support Healthgrades’ suite of online appointment scheduling platforms, frameworks, and administrative applications. You will drive delivery of quality solutions from the team, and ensure that other engineers on the team have the support needed to produce quality work quickly. You will also collaborate with other leads in the web engineering organization to set standards, technology and architecture direction, and ensure consistent, high-quality solutions. Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • 7+ years of professional web site and web service development, with significant experience developing solutions that include third party web service integrations.
  • High-volume, consumer-facing web sites a big plus.
  • Developing back ends with .NET technologies in Visual Studio 2015 or newer.
  • Developing data driven web applications in ASP.net (MVC 4) in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Mobile web technologies including responsive design beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Designing, building, maintaining, and accessing RESTful APIs, particularly built using Web API strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of web-based architecture (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication, etc.) and technologies (CSS, HTML).
  • Designing, managing, and querying databases (SQL Server).
  • Using search engines (Solr, Elasticsearch) or document-oriented data stores (Couchbase, MongoDB, RavenDB, etc.) beneficial.
  • Experience with JavaScript and web technologies (XHTML, CSS, Ajax, Json, etc.).
  • Experience with version control (Git, Mercurial, Subversion, TFS) and modern version control workflows (GitFlow, pull requests, code reviews).
  • Test-driven development (TDD) and creating unit tests.
  • Knowledge of latest trends in web application development.
  • Familiar with one or more cloud platforms and APIs like Amazon AWS, Salesforce, Google, and Bing.
  • Ability to contribute to a culture of communication, collaboration and creativity.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • A strong candidate will have 7+ years of professional web development, a proven track record developing features and services for public-facing web sites and a general passion for web-development.
